Please use the link to the left to view the pictures. 10/5/07 Just a quick update...Puppies were all vet checked and all had their tails docked and dew claws removed yesterday. Everyone came through with flying colors. Mom and puppies are all doing great! Today we start early neurological stimulation exercises. 10/03/07 Newborn pictures posted! We will post pictures tomorrow! 10/2/07 8:12 am MST No puppies yet, but after a restless night I do think it will be sometime today. Stay tuned! 10/1/07 Well we woke up today to Star's official due date...and still no puppies. Her temperature has been fluctuating all weekend keeping us wondering if she is in labor or not. This morning it is down again... We shall see if it stays down this time! She is resting comfortably, but is a bit upset with me that I will not let her go outside to hunt ground squirrels. 9/27/07 Well still no signs of impending labor. Star's temperature is holding steady. For those that do not know...a canine's temperature will drop 2 degrees or more 24-48 hours before the puppies are born. This will let us humans, that are anxiously awaiting the arrival, a heads up. We did see a lot of puppy movement this morning though. It was fun watching her belly move around, and feeling the little puppies kicking our hands. 9/23/07 Yeah yeah yeah!!! Big sister Casey, from Star and Rebel's first litter earned her conformation championship yesterday!! Casey is owned and loved by David, Ann, Claire and Ivan Jones in Utah.  9/22/07 I finally got a picture of Star from the side drinking water!! Just over a week left until we see those puppies!!! I set up the whelping box yesterday, and got the supplies out, next step is to get everything sterilized, and to start monitoring her temperature.
9/19/07 A little under 2 weeks left until puppies!!! We are getting very excited. Star has really ballooned up this past week. I tried to get a picture of her standing from the side...but she was not very cooperative. She wanted to turn and look at me, so I kept getting a picture of her nose instead. I will try again tomorrow. The last few litters we kept in our kitchen nook. We have rearranged our family room, and cleared our some space...so I think we will try keeping this litter in the family room. We plan to set up the whelping box this weekend. More to come very soon!!! 9/10/07  Everything is going great. Below is a picture of a sleeping Star I took today...Only about three weeks until the puppies arrive!!!
09/03/07 Star is starting to get bigger, but she is definately not a large as she was at this stage for her first litters. We are predicting a smaller litter this time around...we shall see!! 8/22/07 It has been about three weeks since the breedings and Star is doing great. We are seeing some very positive signs of pregnancy. We will be able to do an ultrasound next week. 7/30/06 This is the place where we will keep you up to date on what is happening! Puppies are due early October! |
